South Moor Vets is an independent practice situated in a beautiful area, between the South Devon Coastline and Dartmoor.

We are looking for an enthusiastic new-graduate Vet to join our small animal team in Kingsbridge. The position is for either three or four days per week, with a good balance of both consulting and operating.

This position does include the OOH rota, which is currently 1:6. Full support will be provided both in and out of hours.

We have four branches all within the South Hams, with specialist equipment such as CT scanner, DR system, endoscopy and advanced surgical facilities. We also have multiple experienced certificate holders to offer excellent support and focus on professional development.

We are proud to provide our own OOH, with three nurses and five Vets on each night across three of our sites.

Other benefits include:

  • Competitive salary
  • GDP support
  • Good work/life balance
  • Opportunity to be part of a friendly and dynamic team
  • Own OOH’s care with duty nurses across three sites, who have the phones
  • Full support day and night from certificate holders and experienced Vets
  • CPD encouraged including certificates (generous budget)
  • Private Healthcare
  • Enhanced sick pay
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme (coming soon)

Please send your CV and covering letter to: Sarah Howard, Practice Manager.

We are looking for a Qualified Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly, experienced team at our Dartington branch.

Full-time position (part-time positions can be discussed).

With OOH rota.

Package:

28 days holiday including Bank Holidays (or lieu time if worked). CPD encouraged and RCVS membership paid. Private Healthcare & generous staff discount.

Salary:

Annual salary of £27,976 – £40,300 depending on experience.

General day shifts:

Day shifts are a mixture of 8.30am–5.30pm or 9am-6pm operating, nurse consults and general duties. Lunch is an hour unpaid break. Shifts are 8 working hours. We aim to produce a fair day and night rota for the whole nursing team.

OOH:

We proudly offer our own OOH service. This ensures a continuity of care for our inpatients and involves pragmatic triage of emergency calls overnight. There are always nurses & vets on call every night 365 days a year to provide help and advice. OOH shifts are both paid for and time off is given post-shift.

The Team:

South Moor Vets are proud to boast a great, experienced team who enjoy a good work life balance, particularly making use of our beautiful coastline, Dartmoor and pubs. We feel we offer a great environment to work in with plenty of support. Many of our Vets are certificate holders meaning we refer very little so most cases are treated in-house. The aim is to ensure job satisfaction for the team as well as looking after our clients. We are happy to help people to explore their particular interests. The main aim is to continue to keep the team happy!

Please send your CV and covering letter to: Sarah Howard, Practice Manager.
